Objectives

A student of Botany has been learning these aspects together with taxonomy, anatomy, plant pathology, plant breeding, microbiology, plant physiology, plant biochemistry, ecology, cytology, genetics, cytogenetics, molecular biology and plant biotechnology.
To extend the knowledge on plant science.
To sensitize the students towards the need for keeping the environment clean and conserve our natural resources.
Knowledge acquired to be applied for socio-economic growth and benefit of the society.
To cultivate the awareness to save the healthy environment.

Salient Features

We have necessary infrastructure to cater the needs of basic experiments included in the curriculum. Well equipped labs, Botanical garden, Department Library, Class rooms with LCD facility

Career Prospectus

After duly completing a bachelor’s education in Botany, there are many careers with plants so it is important to understand the various fields and the academic requirements to prepare for them. Plant Pathologist, Farming Consultant, Environmental Consultant, Molecular Biologist, Plant Biochemist, Nursery Manager, Forester/Park Ranger, Conservationist, Ecologist and Plant Explorer.
